Syntactic Void Filler

Specially engineered and formulated to serve as void filler for subsea applications, these syntactic materials are provided as multi-part kits that are mixed and poured into any free-flood cavity or void. Void spaces in both steel or composite structures may be filled with syntactic to fine tune ballast capability, reduce in-water weight of large components during deployment or simply to reduce corrosion.

ESS-provided kits have been used in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, and the shipyard at the Point Loma Naval Base. We’ve also performed on-site syntactic installation at Point Loma, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Northrop Grumman Newport News, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Kings Bay Shipyard, the Subsea Naval Base in Groton and syntactic fills of customer-provided parts at our Attleboro, Massachusetts facility.
